Are You Using the Right Brush for Your Hair Type?

Everyone's hair type is unique, so why should we all use the same brush? We put together a list of all our favorite brushes for your specific hair type.

Oily Scalp: The Curved Brush

If you have an oily scalp, this brush is perfect for you. The curved part of the brush is great for evenly distributing the oil throughout the hair so it's less concentrated at your roots.

Fine-Medium Hair: The Vegan Boar Bristle Brush

With such a gentle texture, the boar bristle brush is ideal for those with fine-medium hair. Boar bristle brushes don't yank at the hair strands like a lot of other brushes. They simply slip through the hair and gently work to detangle. Our Briogeo Vegan Boar Bristle Brush gently detangles straight, wavy, curly or coiled hair for a smooth and healthy-looking finish. This one-of-a-kind brush is engineered to perfection featuring soft ballpoint tips to gently massage scalp, multi-layered bristles to detangle every strand.

Straight/Wavy Hair - The Paddle Brush

One of the more neutral brushes would be the paddle brush. With its large surface, it can detangle a lot at once, so it's not ideal for those with finer hair. The paddle brush specifically works well to detangle + helps to prevent frizz and static for straight-wavy hair types.

Curly Hair: The Denman D4 Classic Styling Brush

With its flexible bristles, the Denman Styling Brush is perfect for detangling while holding the natural curl form of the hair. You can even choose your desired number of bristle rows depending on your hair length!

Thick Hair: The Tangle Teezer

If you have thicker hair, you want the bristles of your brush to be on the firmer side to withstand and detangle those pesky knots. Que the Tangle Teezer brush. Bonus: This brush is also great for a nice scalp massage once done brushing.

Frizzy Hair: The Denman Cushion Brush

If your hair just can't seem to stop frizzing out, the Denman Cushion Brush is your new best friend. Made with a rubber pad base and nylon bristles, this brush effectively works to smooth out hair leaving it soft, silky and frizz free.

Extensions: The Loop Hair Extensions Brush

If you have hair extensions, you'll need a brush that will delicately detangle without damaging those expensive hair pieces! The Loop Hair Extensions Brush uses looped nylon bristles to detangle and smooth out the hair strands without snagging or pulling on the hair.

Flat Hair: The Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer & Volumizer

This 2-in-1 brush not only dries the hair, but the unique oval-shaped brush works to smooth the hair while adding volume.

Wet Hair: The Wet Brush

The Wet Brush is an absolute staple if you brush your hair when it's wet. Your hair can easily break when the strands are wet, so the Wet Brush's flexible yet firm bristles are ideal for untangling the hair without causing damage.
