Briogeo has two options for styling and defining your curls: Curl Charisma Rice Amino + Avocado Leave-in Defining Crème and Curl Charisma Chia + Flax Seed Coil Custard. Let's take a look at what these stylers do, what they have in common, and what sets them apart!
Styling textured hair, regardless of curl pattern, requires a good balance of moisture and definition. Curly hair tends toward dryness since oils take longer to travel from the root of the hair to the mid-lengths and ends; it can also struggle with frizz, as the shape of the hair shaft makes it difficult for the cuticle to lay flat, allowing moisture out and humidity in!
What's similar?
Both of our Curl Charisma styling creams are formulated with Tomato Fruit Ferment, which enhances moisture retention to help encourage consistent curl formation, Rice Amino Acids, which help seal the hair cuticle to lock out frizz-inducing humidity, and Avocado Oil + Shea Butter, both of which help deliver moisture to soften hair and enhance shine. Both are curl-enhancing creams that are meant to be applied to wet hair, both are vegan and Leaping Bunny certified cruelty-free, and both products are 100% recyclable!
What's different?
Each curl styler has a different feel and weight and works well for different curl types and textures. The Leave-In Defining Crème is lighter weight cream that offers a soft, flexible hold for waves and curls. Many of the ingredients used in the formula are chosen for their ability to hydrate and smooth hair without weighing it down. We generally recommend it for type 2A and type 3B curls and waves and fine to medium hair.
The Coil Custard, as the name suggests, is a much richer, buttery cream formulated to give intense moisture and definition to tighter curls and coils. The tighter the curl pattern, the drier it tends to be, so the ingredients used here, like Castor, Chia + Flax Seed Oils are much more deeply moisturizing and best suited for type 3C - 4C hair and thicker hair.
